The centerpiece of ...waters.... is formed by large-format oil paintings of the Foz de Iguazu waterfalls in Brazil, which transform the vertical into cinemascopic water landscapes. The flow of the river draws the viewer in and creates the impression of being cascading over the edge.
Riverine landscapes, cloud patches, and children in boats along the Amazon celebrate the various phases of water. The moist biotopes of primary forests, the rays of light on swamp plants, and the artist's impression of an initiation ritual form the thematic backdrop of the paintings. At the same time, they underline the threats facing these endangered habitats.
