ZEITREICH April 5 - 25, 1997
Amerlinghaus Gallery In the framework of the exhibition ZEITREICH ("Time in abundance"), the primary-forest installation is presented as a counterpoint to the transitory nature of human life. In the forest, old age is a sign of strength and hardiness. Energy and material flows are optimized and both stability and biodiversity are highest. This project once again employs optical and acoustic approaches, because the combination of sound elements and the large-format paintings is better suited to transpose the viewer into another environment. The third element is an olfactory one: the visitors were confronted with the decomposition process of freshly cut plants from the rainforest (courtesy of the Botanical Garden, Vienna). |
