Words and sounds converge in the labyrinth, initially expressing hope and desire, then fading away into nothingness. Hidden pleasures in the garden, departure to Kythera, always on quest forArcadia. Finely drawn visuals from the Rococo sketchbook, covered by black-and-white Japanese patterns, bewildering the modern observer.
Obsolete topics of past eras are presented, yet humans and their feelings and desires have remained unchanged. Desires and impulses of the heart are permanent… the transitoriness is simply ignored, until pleasure dissipates like a cloud steam into the blue sky.
An installation with 16 stations by the artist Sylvie Proidl, stations in which emotions are created with words and sounds, to be experienced in a fleeting moment. The sound created by wintermute supports, in its artificiality, the transitory transportation of elements, and Simon-Niklas Scheuring interprets the metamorphosis with poems ranging from Heine to Becker.
