THE REVENGE OF LOST PLANTS
The work of the visual artist Sylvie Proidl deals with threatened environments. For the installation THE REVENGE OF LOST PLANTS she uses a herbarium as a metaphor in order to stage, with a humorous touch, the revenge of plants that have been pressed to death. The transformation of the dried fibers into proliferating plastic foil unfolds in front of the visitor’s eye, and the bright colors overlay the Latin names of the extinct plants with thick hand-made paper. |
